Hi all,

With the new football season started, I am currently busy with the live trading on different (big) matches. Mostly on the match odds and o&u1.5/2.5 markets. Whilst doing so, based on my observations I am quite confident about my entry points in the matches. However, I am struggling to determine the correct exit points of the trade. What do you look for in a match to determine a good exit point?

For instance:
- open a match odds trade in the 60th minute against team A and no goal is being scored for the next 15min and no changing conditions (e.g. team A still not looking good in the match). Would it be good to keep the trade or would it still be a good way to trade out at the moment in time?
- open a u2.5 goals trade in the 60th minute and no goal is being scored for the next 15min and no changing conditions (e.g. still a dull match). Would it be good to keep the trade or would it still be a good way to trade out at the moment in time?

To be honest I don't prefer the turn a trade into a bet, but that also potentially shows where my issue is with my trading, thinking that I always need an exit point during the match? For the match odds market an exit point could for instance be half time or a goal being scored (changing the dynamics of the game), and for the goal markets obviously a goal being scored. But what if things keep going in my direction?

Interested to hear the different opinions about exit points, also in general and not just based on my examples.
