Hello, very new to this. Just downloaded Bet angel yesterday. I am a bit confused about how betfair commission is/is not factored in, does the 5% commission not eat up any small profits.
Hope someone can help.
cheers
Betfair commission %?
It only comes off your profits at the end when the market is settled, so even if you won a £1 you'd pay just 5p in commission on that market.
Bet Angel Pro also has the option to show your P/L net of commission so you can what you would actually win once you are paid out

Ok Thanks, so I was experimenting with low stakes on scalping, and got a match on back and lay 1 point apart with a trade profit of 40p, but when calculating the win profit commission and taking that off, I have actually lost 12p. Doing something wrong somewhere obviously, LOL.
Glad I didnt go in at £10.

but the commission on 40p would have been 2p, so you'd have won 38p when the market was settled
Laying and betting at £2
So, if the horse won, I would get £11.60 less 58p commission, leaving £11.02
with a liability of £11.20
if the horse lost I lose £2 from back bet , but get £2 back from lay, less 10p commission, so have lost 10p
Or is the commission charged on the trade as a whole, i.e 5% of the 40p trade profit?
If on total trade, then happy, it means I might be starting to get the hang of it a little.
Thanks for your help.

You have an option of 3 different Betfair "Reward plans". The standard has 5% commission but there is a 2% commission option with reduced perks. Most Traders on here will have moved to the 2% option. Check out "My Betfair rewards" under "Promotions and Rewards" tab on your account.
