Can't get stop loss to work

I must be doing something wrong, I placed a lay bet( libility limited) and then I tried to put on a stop loss... As I understand it a stop loss should only be invoked when the prices passes through the stop loss price... But it didn't do that.. The instant I set the stop loss it put a full price bet (not hedged) on at the lower price which was matched instantly at the higher back price.... leaving me with a piddly lay bet and massive back bet.

I know this tool is supposed to work, but how? I've read the help guide and watched the video, but my Evol dosent do it like that... what am I doing wrong, is there something else I have to set
