With this upon us, will BA be fine?

I'm sure it will, but just asking before I upgrade!

Historically, Microsoft have bent over backwards for backwards compatibility...
Historically, everything ships broken also :) Presumably it's cheaper to let the users find the bugs?

It's rarely a good idea to use new software until some other sucker does...leave it to the youth...they're good for somethin' :)

+1!

Microsoft said they'll be supporting Windows 10 until at least 2025 so let someone else be the guinea pig

If you're using one of the latest releases of Windows 10 you are a guinea pig. Microsoft have a 'current branch for business' version that they recommend to businesses and test the latest versions and updates on home users.

Worked in IT for 20 odd years. We released stuff knowing for sure there would be a flood of bug reports. I don't agree with it, but it's the industry standard. Betangel seems to buck the trend in this respect.

With millions of different PC models/component variants out there and probably hundreds of thousands of peripherals and software there will always be some conflicts with the initial release versions. If you are unlucky then something relatively minor will not work, if you are really unlucky it will be something massive like software crucial to your main source of income!

Most likely on modem systems all will be fine, but definitely would advise to wait for a few months unless you like taking unnecessary risks...

I see no reason to upgrade to Windows 11 for at least 2-3 years - as has been said, let others find all of the problems and bugs and wait for a R2 or similar - Win 10 Pro works fine for me, but each to their own.

What do you make of this, and are there any Window insiders on here?

I wouldn't mind installing it on my secondary computer if you get a worthwhile award or even free upgrade but not for an horary badge!

I'm too busy to act as a guinea pig for Microsoft, but if you have the time why not?

It wouldn't take much time, you only need to give occasional rants about their crap products. The issue I have is enabling telemetry and giving them access to data, something I've never felt easy about.
