Ok, so turn up to trade on Tues, just like I do every other day, log on trade the races most of the day as normal and log off at the end of the day.

So i was a bit shocked to get a Data Usage bill for £45 for Tues when I return to my desk today. I have absolutely no idea what this is for or how I can prove I was not refreshing more than the 300m/s which am set at permanently?!! I do not use the Guardian facility or watch more than market at once and never touch the default settings.

I am at a complete loss as to what it could be and am worried BF are going to keep charging me £50/day !!!

Is there anyone who can offer some advice on this?

multiple bet angels open accidently? betfair logged in in a browser aswell / open on another computer in browser or betangel form? All linked to data requests.

After some investigation it would appear that the problem occured after BA crashed on me on Tues. I assumed the program had completely shut down but it would seem it was still making data requests to BF.. When i reopened BA again I was effectively opening it for a second time - so unaware i was making 2 lots of data requests for half the afternoon.

I am a little shocked that this can happen - and the size of the charge - £45 for half a trading session (3.40pm - 6.20pm) - wow! I was making about 35 hits per second - you are allowed 20.

The good news is after some protest BF have kindly refunded the charge which I really appreciate - in fact they were very co-opperative in providing data etc. So brownie point for them - particularly Kirsty who was very helpful.

Lesson to be learnt though - if BA does crash - restart your computer before reopening.

Or just CTRL+ALT+DELETE to bring up the task manager, go to the processes tab (this is for XP - maybe someone can assist with win7 and vista instruction as im not sure if its exactly the same procedure with those oses) and look to see if there is a BetAngel.exe in the process list. If it is, single click it then click the end process button. XP should now kill the BetAngel process.

You can then recheck the list to ensure you have successfully closed the application.

Hi Yantraman, Andy is right and you are using a much older version of the software, we are on version 1.25 currently. Recent version of the software check to see if you have another Bet Angel running and warn you when you log on, thereby avoiding this issue.
