Buying money

Some of these international matches are practically buying money. I am amazed some people are laying some of these big countries against teams that have no hope of winning.

Hi merry terry,
You probably right, most of the time, but with that attitude you will 1 day really get your arse well & truly kicked. Be careful

I know there is risk but it seems to be very rare that these results are turned over. I'd be interested to see the stats.Merry Terry wrote:Sweden vs San Marino - 1.01 to back

6-1
5-0
3-1
20-2 in total
Quite close in the end

I managed to get filled on Germany at 1.04
We had a look at our database. We identified 36 recent international matches where the favourite was 1.10 or less. Of those 36 only two failed, one draw one shock defeat. Backing all with £100 each time would have returned £181 in profit.Merry Terry wrote:I'd be interested to see the stats.

Hmmm, not a strategy for me.
You only have to look at games such as a full strength Portugal with Ronaldo et al getting held to a goalless draw by Cape Verde Islands to see that you could get well and truly spanked at some point!
Having said that maybe it's just a Portugese thing what with them losing to Norway tonight

Portugal are going through turmoil at the moment, picking and choosing your targets always makes a lot of sense.SilentDave wrote:Having said that maybe it's just a Portugese thing what with them losing to Norway tonight

This thread caught my interest so I thought I would re-run the numbers but for 1.20 or lower. Just over 88% of matches were wins, 8% draws and 3% losers. Luxemborg overturned short odds twice in that lot. Celtic vs Ross County, a cup match, was in there as well as Portugal and Cape Verde.
Overall the odds averaged out to 1.14 so the actual was pretty close at 88%

Couldn't let this one uncommented:
Queirós is really a very bad coach and there is an absolute lack of trust on his skills in the moment.
Ronaldo is out with an injured foot. This is the same foot that was injured when he played for Man Utd.
I have an injured foot myself too, and my physio told me there is a rumour that Ronaldo won't be 100% from his foot ever. He is still an awesome player, but he must avoid contact, so he tries keep dribling to a minimum. But, it's just a rumour

Playing again tonight at 1.14, surely not another slip up by barca?
