The HRI will announce the loss of ten meetings for 2011 . There will be 345 meetings in 2010 but only 335 will be penciled in for 2011 when the Irish fixture list is published next week.

Horse Racing Ireland chief executive Brian Kavanagh told the Irish racing post yesterday: “We have a board meeting scheduled for Friday. The fixtures committee has completed its work and the board will be giving final approval to the list for next year.

“There are no major surprises. Punchestown has already announced its dates for the Irish National Hunt Festival in May and the plan is to publish the full list early next week.

“The next full board meeting will not be held until September 27 but, as that would be late in the year for publishing the fixture list, we decided to bring the final approval and publication forward.”
