Betting in Switzerland via VPN

Anybody has an idea what kind of sanctions you could face if getting caught by Swiss authorities betting via VPN? Or in Spain by Spanish authorities?

If you use a vps then technically the bets (esp automated) are being placed in a different jurisdiction, but I think it's more an issue that your account would be seen by Betfair as being held in a restricted country. I don't know about local tax laws but regular income from an overseas gambling company might also attracted and need to be explained.
