Hi all,
Been doing some manual trading occasionally on the football via smarkets and now looking to move towards automation and betfair to see how I get on.
From a brief look over things on youtube and here, it seems that the rules and parameter setting are really powerful with Bet Angel, a lot more than I was expecting to be fair.
I presume it's relatively easy to set rules/parameters to place back and lay's when certain prices are met. For instance lay at 1.7, place back bet at 1.82 for instance.
Are there options to go into time, for instance place lay at 1.7, after "15 mins" if price is less than 1.5 place back trade - else if place back bet at 1.82.
Thanks
Rob
Rules and parameter setting
Yes, you can do all that and a lot more.rob9112 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 10:10 pmHi all,

You can probably do anything you want (esp with excel integration) if it's in the market data feed eg derived from prices, volumes or time. What's harder is doing without everything else you used when you did it manually, eg your subjectivity.
Thanks both, I’ll be looking to sign up next month.
When we talk about excel integration, is there a way on here to request the pre built macro criteria or whatever might be needed?
The automation is going to save me the manual nightmare of monitoring games!

If people say what they need then usually they get some feedback about whether it's best to use Guardian or if it would require Excel.
But it really is best to put in a few hours and learn how to do it yourself because you'll want to make changes, and you don't want to be waiting (or paying) for someone else to do it for you. You also don't want to give away your edge to someone likely to get into the market faster then you. If the strategy makes money it'll be a very well paid week or two doing the learning and it will open up your imagination about what's possible. You might find people do offer to do it for you, but to be honest Excel & Guardian aren't rocket science and it's less of a pain to learn it than deal with someone for weeks on end.
