I have been invited to Ascot this Saturday as a friend of mine has connections to one of the sponsors. I get a call last night from this friend saying that they have told a few of the people going along that they can rely on me for some good tips ‘cos I’m a sports trader, I tried to explain what I do but the damage has been done. Unfortunately my ability to tip winners isn’t what it used to be and is much favoured to the jumps rather than the flat so I was wondering whether anyone could offer me a few pointers to the races?

Thanks in advance.

Back Betfair steamers EW on course always works for me as you get a few winners and people are too drunk late on to realise they have lost money overall.

I would just swot up on timeform, you can use their analysis to impress your friends. Have a great day out.

When they ask for tips just smile and say

"never talk to strange women"........."don't step off a moving bus"...."don't eat yellow snow".....they'll soon get the message!

Great day had by all and a few winners makes it even more enjoyable.

JG - Cheers for the tips but have to say I've had some winners by talking to strange women, agree on the rest though
