Hi Peeps,
I want to share a story, that’s really got me down.
For those who know, I very rarely visit the forum these days, not because I don’t wish to trade anymore. I do dabble a little bit and prefer to try and let a value bet ride on the exchange, just so don’t like to be glued to a screen these days
Casino/story.
For those who don’t know, I got into gambling/trading originally from playing the FOBT machines a good 15 years ago, which led me to casinos, then to working in on horse racing business, to then abit of trading.
True story.
I was wondering around a town in the UK three months ago. Whilst having a couple hours spare I popped into an independent casino.
Just out of curiousty.
I knew within 5 minutes of being there and don’t want to go into details, but I noticed there roulette wheel could be beaten.
(Have a national ban at Gentings/Grosvenor since 2011 for same edge/skill)
Anyway cut the long story short, I spent all of August, all of September working my bollocks off.
I was there from open until close. Some days 15/16 hours, honing I’m on my skills.
I was planning to go for the big one (days away)
I turn up on Saturday afternoon, to find out I’ve been banned.
I only managed 25k in profit, and I know this is petty, but it has broken me mentally.
I cannot trade a race, bet a horse. I cannot do anything without thinking straight. I’m emotionally attached to everything.
I can’t sleep, I’m in a really low place.
The rage they have caused deep inside has really effected my mental health.
Anyway, wanted to share it and get it off my chest.
Happy trading.

It's always a dilemma when you find an edge.
Batter it relentlessly, whatever the consequences, or get the money slowly.
There is no right answer, but 25k doesn't seem such a huge amount for 2 months of work and a ban. Thou am sure I might have gone
the same route.
If you have no alternatives, your only recourse is finding overseas casinos or selling the skill to partners.

That sounds like such a frustrating situation, especially after investing so much time and effort. I’ve never taken it to that level, but I’ve had moments where I felt like I’d found a small edge on certain games or patterns, and yeah, the casinos don’t like it one bit. Once I started doing well on a blackjack table over a few visits, and next thing I know, pit boss starts hovering and eventually asked me not to play anymore. Even though I wasn’t counting cards in the strict sense, just using solid basic strategy and maybe betting more aggressively than usual. It left a bad taste.
I’ve been sticking to online casinos after that, mainly because they're less personal and you can jump around. I check out the latest ones and what bonuses are going on to get a bit more value. When I want something fresh, I find the newest online casinos with bonus offers really helpful for trying my luck on a clean slate. You can check this one, SPAM REMOVED, it’s between my favourites.

Was just going to post similar James.
I wondered where he'd been card counting, 1985? Casinos have been randomising between each hand for at least 30yrs probably longer.

I don't go to casinos as I don't have an edge...but if you spend two months almost 24/7 playing a game of roulette where the odds are stacked in favour of the House and where the more you play the more chance the House has of winning, yet you are still beating the House, the Casino will simply think you are either cheating or playing with an edge and they don't want you.
So I think you perhaps waited too long for your big pay-day. Either way, take it as a compliment that you beat the House, you were rewarded with £25k, and what you can do once you can do again, just not at that Casino or at least not just yet...and well done sea horse!

Many years ago, when the Betfair exchange games were a thing, they limited successful layers to only being able to put up odds in the 3rd box.
Either preferential players or the house got to seed boxes 1 and 2.
Nice game for them .. usual stuff.
