Not many players go head-to-head with Sir Alex and survive long at Man U.
I bet Mssrs Ancellotti and Mancini are already planning to swoop in January...
What do you guys think?
Jeff
Are Rooney's days at Old Trafford numbered?

I can tell you that if Wayne Rooney will end with MAN UTD his next destination will be REAL MADRID. Benzema,(in 2009 valued 33M, currently valued 25M) will move to Inter Milan and KAKA, (in 2009 Valued 62M, currently valued 40M), will move back to Ac Milan to raise enough cash to buy Wayne Rooney ( valued 39M euros in 2004) ..
Even though I don't support Man Utd, I am in awe of Ferguson's appetite for the game
It would so easy to just walk away from these spoilt, prima donna millionaires, and just enjoy his retirement
But no, he seems to be constantly evolving the side. If Rooney has become too big for his boots, Fergie will flog him & look for a replacement to take the team forward

Possibly.
And Barcelona's another possibility.
Fergie would hate to sell a top player to a Premiership rival. But money talks in football, and City and Chelski are owned by multi-billionaires who aren't bothered about something so trivial as making a profit!
If City offer £60 million for Rooney, it will be an offer United's board find hard to resist!

If Rooney agrees to go to Man City, it would purely be out of spite
If his relationship with Fergie has become unpleasant, he'd love to get the ultimate revenge by firing City above Utd
Ideally, selling him to City would be the very last resort, but we are aware of Utd's increasingly poor financial state, so it might not be as ridiculous as it may sound

Indeed.
People wondered where the goals would come from when Van Nistlerooy left, but United managed to fill the void. Ditto with Ronaldo.
If Rooney were to leave, then players like Berbatov, Macheda and Wellbeck would hopefully make sure that the goals kept coming in.

Hi LeTiss
I'm not sure Rooney would have much say in the matter. I don't know if United would have any legal remedies if Rooney refused to move, but they could just say to him: 'If you stay here, you'll just be warming the bench during some of the best years of your career'...
But I agree with you that, if Rooney went to City, he would delight in the damage he could cause United (as I'm sure Tevez already does!).

Jos Mourinho wants Rooney, I would be very happy to be working with Rooney Mourinho stated, thus indicating to count on the decisive collaboration of Cristiano Ronaldo to close Operation. Ferguson's time for silent reflection and, perhaps giving a even look at list drawn up by Mirror Sports has lined up the 10 players who have previously dared to challenge the wrath of Fergie, remembering what happened to result in: David Beckham to Paul Ince, Ruud Van Nistelrooy Roy Keane, Stam by Gordon Stracham, all shown the door by the Scot. The only exceptions were Lee Sharpe and Peter Schmeichel, who at that time were saved from the wrath of Sir Alex, but if that was the first for the commencement of the end of his career, the second excuse and lived happily for a while (With 4 other titles and also won the Champions League in 1999). One scenario that the United fans hope to see repeated with Rooney.
I hope the translation is correct. The Italian Gazzetta is always one step ahead about transfers predictions....

Hi Giulio
Are you saying that you think Morinho would want to reunite Rooney and Ronaldo?
I'm not sure Rooney would welcome that outcome, given that the position Ronaldo played in at United prevented Rooney from scoring lots of goals.
As a United fan, I hope that City don't get Rooney, particularly as Rooney and Tevez would make an extremely effective strike partnership...

Mourihno has been linked to take Man UTD over after fergusson days. He may thinking of the future but, if he is counting on CR9 collaboration, He may have a project in mind for REAL MADRID. I trust gazzetta as they proved to be right many times b4. We will see..
I'm sure Morinho would do a great job at Man U, but I don't think Fergie plans to retire anytime soon!

Fergusson may not retire anytime soon but, Wayne rooney days at old Trafford are defenately numbered. To highlight the financial Man Utd current situation as well and trust me Fergusson is well aware of it. he will not ignore fat offers to get rid of rooney.
Rooney wont leave. Berbatov has started well this season, but Macheda and Wellbeck aren't good enough (certainly not yet.) Even if they didn't need him Fergie wont sell him to another English team and Rooney isn't the sort that would settle abroad
We'll see...
It could be that there's no rift between Fergie and Rooney, and the media are making something out of nothing.
Rooney's not the sharpest tool in the box, and it may be that he wasn't aware when making certain comments that they could be interpreted as digs at Fergie.
But when a top player falls out with Fergie, that player generally ends up leaving Man U, regardless of how talented he is.
And Fergie will be aware that Scholes and Giggs aren't getting any younger, and he will need funds to buy some decent midfielders to replace them with.
If Rooney does go, my money would be on City. They can comfortably outbid everyone except Chelski, and the Rooneys wouldn't have to leave the area they were brought up in.
