Backing Horse at SP after the off

Is this possible with BF / BA? I basically do not want to back until immediately after the start. Am assuming i's a matter of liquidity and the strength of market at that time. Any advice for a newbie other than ''you idiot, of course not''.

Yes, you can create a rules file which is armed to trigger once the market goes in-play and will place the bet at the actual SP (of course you may not be matched 100% of the time if the horse runs very good or bad, by the time your bet hits the market after Betfair 1 second in-play delay the price may be trading well away from its SP)

You could always run the rules file with a Servant, that way you could select the runner/s its to trigger on at the time you start the servant, this allows you to watch how they behave going to post etc and you can then decide at the last minute which you want it back/lay

I have a question which probably the experienced traders can answer, which is how far out is the projected Betfair SP at race start time (not including any delay) from the actual final Betfair SP? Having watched some races, it seems to vary quite significantly. Does it follow any pattern? Peter's advice on a video indicated that money kind of dries up once the start time arrives. Does this affect the Betfair SP in anyway?

It's not much (aka 'no') use because it's only updated every 60s.

If we're splitting hairs...last mid price ....but almost equally around the last back or last lay too. I checked a while ago for my own curiosity. Sample was only a few thousand but the shape is there.
