What happens to unmatched bets when the event ends?

We were all new to Bet Angel once. Ask any question you like here and fellow forum members promise not to laugh. Betfair trading made simple.

Hi
Sorry for what is probably another daft question, but what happens to an unmatched bet when an event ends? In practice mode I have 'kept' my unmatched bets and found they normally get matched. But I can't tell what happens to the stake in real life if they are are not matched by the end of a race?

All unmatched bets are cancelled when an event ends.
