Ive recently selected weight of money onto my ladders....what im trying to understand though is what it actually means and how to use it, in the bleow example, ive got the arrows pointing up...along with 68% and 32% on the respective sides...

Is this telling me that there is more money on the lay side so its going to move up (so I should lay it to scrape some ticks?) , or is that far too simple a view?

Thanks

Think its the proportion of the money available at the first 3 prices either side.

That's too simplistic a view, but it basically tells you the proportion of money on either side of the book to 3 places.

10+7+4=21 and 2+2+4=8, totaling 29.

21/29=68%, so the calculation probably includes fractions. It's configurable on the settings display tab.

It's traditionally an indicator of supply and demand, the driver of market movement. Although when it's used on fast moving markets, with big amounts flashing either side a few ticks away, it's debatable how much use it is compared to the vastly superior method of ..... just looking at what's happening.

Forget betting for a moment, just think 'market'. Its buyers vs sellers. When nobody wants to buy and everyone wants to sell then where's the price going.? Or visa versa obviously. And translating buy and sell to sports, lay = buy and sell = back.

The money on the ladder is in theory people's intention to buy or sell although a change in the traded volume either side is probably more informative. So much of that money waiting is traders just trying to make a tick on the offer without any real intention to buy or sell any value.

Yes and No..

The WOM is a short-term, direction indicator. (The price pressure of the last 3 prices either side of the current price) The blue/pink arrows/percentages shows the information in an easy to read display.

Once you've got confirmation of the price movement, it would be the last one to check before entering a trade. (scalping easier than swing trading)

In the example you've posted, there is no guaranteed way to determine what's going to happen next. You're working on the bigger prices ranges that can just as easily reverse due to higher volatile price action. It does look as though the indicator percentage/arrows indicate a Lay direction, but it's at the top of it's price range and could stall and come back just as quickly.

Hi
I've been reading the above posts and trying to do more research on the other indicators mentioned. Are there any videos explaining how to interpret things like Bollinger Bands and RSI in horse racing?

I'm not even seeing Bollinger bands in BetAngel?

Everything I'm finding relates to financial markets and I don't understand anything well enough to apply it to horse racing.

Many thanks
Pete
