The creator of great comic characters. Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson.
Edna was a tool for him to show his ad-hoc wit. Patterson is probably the excoriating critique of a corrupt politician I have ever seen.
In his various guises he sometimes made me laugh so hard snot dribbled from my nose.

Wife just told me about this, quite remarkable that both Dame Edna and Lilly Savage passed away within a month of each other

Humphries made me laugh with his mischievous humour. He was so sharp. We could do with more like him IMO. RIP.
