the lay price will always normally be higher than the back price, its very hard to know with the 5 ticks condition you are using though, simply because the prices are so dynamic.

It depends on the sport, the odds, and time until the off.

Only when the 'Lay' price of the 'Current' selection is the 'lowest' lay price of all the selections
