Good afternoon everyone. I've just joined the forum but I've been using Betfair for a while now. So, I know my way-ish around the software. I was wondering if anyone had a pre-race lay a nominated selection 1 bot file that I could download? I've created one using Peter's tutorials but for some reason, it is not 'firing' off the bet. So, even though the selection meets the criteria, for some reason the bot is not placing the bet. So, I just wanted to check I have all the right conditions and parameters etc in place.

If you attach the file of what you've made or some screenshots of the settings you've used on the 'General', 'Parameters' and 'Conditions' etc it should be easy enough to spot whats wrong

Brilliant, thank you. Will do as soon as I’m back at the PC :-)

Oh and my previous post should have seen ‘BetAngel’ not Betfair!

Thank you again for your offer of support for this. This is the simple lay bot I've created. Just while I'm testing it, it is only small stakes. Hopefully all the info is correct. It isn't 'firing' however. Yesterday, it didn't match any bets and the day before, it only matched 2. So if anyone has a perspective on this or can offer a lay file, I would very be grateful. It is created to match a bet on an automated nominated selection (as can be seen in the photo). Thank you again :-)

Thanks, those screenshots look fine

Just to confirm you've applied the automation file to your list of markets in Guardian and chosen a selection for it to trigger on in the Guardian nominated selection 1 column?

If you have can you upload a full screenshot of your Guardian screen so the Rules 1 column, Guardian nominated 1 column and last update columns are all visible?

Thank you so much for the quick reply and yes, I thought it looked all ok too. So not sure why it isn't firing.

Just to check - are the conditions correct in terms of where it says 'selection'? I have 'Nominated' checked (and then Guardian Nominated Selection 1).

Here is my Guardian screen with the rules applied and inclusive of a nominated selection for each race.

Yep, those look fine too

You said it worked the other day so next thing to check is you don't have the 'Confirm bets' box ticked, ie, in case you are using a different settings profile now and that is still ticked on this profile

A quick way to check is if you just open one of the markets in Guardian and try and place a manual bet to see if it places OK, if not and you can't see a confirm bets box just minimize the screen in case its stuck behind your main window

Thanks again. I've just gone into the Bet Angel general settings (is that where to look?) and the 'Confirm Bets?' box is unchecked. I hope you think this looks ok (sorry for the photo on the side!)

But I have seen this on the Bet Angel general settings. Do you think this has anything to do with it (in terms of the 'lay automation rules')? In my bot, the only condition is that is if the lay price is less than 16. So wondering if this general setting has anything to do with the misfiring?

Yes thats fine too, so can't see any reason why it's not triggering tbh

Also just to confirm are you sat at the PC at the time and seeing it not triggering
Or are you leaving it unattended and finding nothing has triggered when you return?

No, those don't have any impact on your Guardian automation rules

Ok, thank you again for the support. Really, really helpful. Good to know that it isn't anything I'm missing.

Yes, I'm sat at the PC and watching the bot not fire rather than coming back to it and it hasn't done it

Does the log have anything in it? (select a market in the top window of Guardian, then click the 'log' tab below the bottom window
If BF were rejecting the bets for some reason there would be an error written to the log

Also did you try placing a manual bet on one of the markets in Guardian to make sure that was able to be placed OK?

Ok, will do that. In the meantime, I create a simple lay bot for the greyounds. Only difference was that the lay price was set smaller. But as I'm sat here, it didn't fire

Will try your suggestions now.
