Hi all,

Newb Question #1. Will BetAngel allow me to dutch several Correct Scores for small stakes (under 1$ per selection) or will i need to input back bets manually if stake is under $1 like on Betfair?

Newb question #2 . How does market liquidity work on Betfair? Back bets- can i place a back bet of any amount i choose regardless of liquidity in back and lay columns? Lay bets- does there need to be liquidity in the Back bet or the Lay bet column at current price before a Lay bet is accepted?

Cheers

Yes it will, but be aware that Betfair don't like too many bets at small values. So try to use larger stakes as soon as you feel comfortable. Consistently betting below minimum stake value isn't 'technically' allowed. But this is generally only seen as an issue by Betfair if you are betting in pennies or cents.

If you place a bet at odds where there is no money, the bet will just wait there to be matched. So it's not really any issue betting at any price you like.

1. Yes, Betangel will manage bet sizing for you if you want to bet using sub $1 stakes.
2.a) You can place a back bet for as much as you want at any price regardless of liquidity. If there is any liquidity on the exchange at-or-above that price then you will get matched for as much as is available, at the best price(s). If there is any of your bet unmatched, then it will wait on the exchange to get matched at the price you listed. B) same but reverse

Thankyou for the replies,

My questions have been answered :D

Some of the matches im selecting for correct score trades are pretty low liquidity, so im worried if i stake too high there wont be enough liquidity to trade out for a loss when the scoreline is going against me.

Remember you can be poacher turned gamekeeper. Those weak, illiquid markets are great for making money from people who've staked too high and will trade out at almost any price. They're my bread and butter. It can be quite hard to stop acting like a punter who's looking for somewhere to bet, and become the person punters are betting with.
