Hi everyone, I am a newbie so forgive me for asking what may be a simple answer
I put a lay bet on the ladder and the horse didn't win. Instead of winning some money it was showing I had lost. It was a straight bet with no offsetting or hedging
So my question is can I use the ladder JUST for lay bets or I need to place a back bet as well.
Or did I execute it incorrectly
Many thanks
Bhupi
Placing a lay bet only
You can certainly use the ladder just for lay bets. When you place a lay bet, you are essentially betting against a particular outcome. If the horse you bet against didn't win, you should have won your bet.
If you're seeing a loss despite the horse not winning, it's possible that there was an error in your execution. You may have had offsetting switch on or some other trading function.
Perhaps check the log to see exactly what Bet Angel did. The log stores data from several sessions, so you should be able to see everything in there.

Have you checked your Betfair Bet History?
