Hi
I'm trying to set an automation that lays the 2nd fav, but only when 2 criteria are met.
The first is that the 2nd fav needs to be a certain gap in lay odds from the fav. this is set in screenshot gap to fav below and seems to be working just right.
the 2nd condition is that the 3rd fav needs to be within a range from the 2nd fav. This is the one that I cant get right and would appreciate some help with. have set it in the screenshot Gap to 3rd fav.
the result I am looking for is that if the lay market was
Fav 2.40
2nd 6.60
3rd 8.60
then the 2nd fav would be a lay
but if the lay market was
Fav 2.40
2nd 5.60
3rd 12.50
then it would not qualify. At the moment both are qualifying.
I don't know if screenshots have been attached correctly, but hopefully they have.
BTW. The gaps shown are not what I'm working on, just the principle so that I can get the right gaps to work.
Gaps in Market
I see that the screenshots didn't come through.
The rule that is not working I have set in Conditions.
Relative Odds condition
this selections Lay Price
is Less Than
the Lay price
of in position 3(sorted in order of favouritism)
plus 3 odds
Currently this is giving me all qualifying selections.
What I want is those 2nd favs that have a gap of 3 or less to the 3rd fav.
I hope this makes sense,
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for the suggestion.
I had already tried that, but re-tried today.
Unfortunately using "minus" gives no qualifiers at all.
using plus and -3 also gives no qualifiers.
using minus and -3 gives the same qualifiers as using plus and 3.
Any further suggestions?
That is definitely all that is needed, gclout wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 5:33 amHi

So rule is applied to 2nd fav
Relative odds condition
Lay price is greater than
Lay price of 3rd fav
minus 3 odds
Means if the second fav is currently 4.6
it will trigger if the 3rds fav's price is between 4.7 and 7.6

to test this out I have just changed both rules.
I changed the first rule to 0.1 so that I get almost all 2nd favs.
I changed the 2nd rule, the one that is giving us trouble, to minus 20 odds. That should trigger almost all 2nd favs. I just ran it through 6 UK greyhound races, but got no triggered selections.
I then changed the rule to plus 1 odds. Ran it through the next half dozen races. this triggered all 2nd favs regardless of gap to 3rd fav.
thoughts?
thanks
Only what I've already put above and that it works fine the way Signal and I have saidgclout wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 8:27 pmHi DallasDallas wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 3:43 pmThat is definitely all that is needed, gclout wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 5:33 am

This rule didn't trigger as it was as the gap of 6 odds between the 2nd at 4.1 and 3rd fav at 9.8 was to high
but as soon as I dropped it to 5 odds it triggered

I can also confirm that my tests past few days doing something similar to OPs rules have been working fine with the plus and minus as mentioned above by dallas so that is the correct way.Dallas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 3:06 pmOnly what I've already put above and that it works fine the way Signal and I have saidgclout wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 8:27 pmHi Dallas

gclout, Have you definitely got greater than and less than the right way round in the relative odds which could be making it do the opposite to what your trying to do?
Here are a few races from this morning. No bets triggered when the gap was within the set limit, bets triggered when the gap was outside the set limit. This is the exact opposite to what I am trying to achieve. What am I doing wrong?Dallas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 3:06 pmOnly what I've already put above and that it works fine the way Signal and I have saidgclout wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 8:27 pmHi Dallas

Yes, you are right. I have it now. the correct setting to have the 3rd fav within a certain gap from the 2nd fav is
Lay Price
is Greater Than
the lay price
of position 3
minus "whatever gap you want" odds
Thanks to you and dallas for your comments and suggestions
Glad you got it sortedgclout wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 9:32 pmHi sIGNALsIGNAL wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 10:12 pmI can also confirm that my tests past few days doing something similar to OPs rules have been working fine with the plus and minus as mentioned above by dallas so that is the correct way.Dallas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 3:06 pm
