New betfair account Australia!
Me and my ex were in the process of getting a mortgage 2 years ago and she was fairly pissed about betfair coming up on my bank statements! So I closed the account to shut her up but betfair would not let me reopen it! Anyway long story short I’m moving to Australia in a months time. If I open account while I’m over there will there trace it back to my account in the uk that’s closed?
Really hard to tell if they share customer details.
I would be reluctant to have the account open with a decent balance incase they confiscate the money on deposit, but sort of assumed they were
different companies.
Maybe you can find a new partner and use their details.

Unsure if it's still the case, but in the past BF UK had no access to any information on AU accounts. If you contacted BF after AU support hours they literally had no idea what you were talking about, they couldn't access any of your information. Obviously that could have changed but I suspect you'd be ok.
In the past, BF AU were really lax about this stuff. I've been made aware of someone (in a somewhat similar position to you) have an ex partner pressure them into closing their account. They wouldn't reopen it upon request (my understanding is that AU accounts are never reopened after a lawsuit a few years back), so they tried their name with a deliberate typo and it got through. Digital ID check was successful and to the best of my knowledge they continue to use it to this day. They are a PC payer though so that may have something to do with it lol. I don't recommend going down that route as it feels a little dodgy to me but based on that, I'd be surprised if you were unable to open an account here.
Something has clearly happened with the AU side though, I've suddenly been asked for copies of all cards on file (user for over 20 years, first time I've ever been asked) and all bank deposit options except OSKO have been removed. No other big bookmakers over here have removed those options to my knowledge so I'm guessing they've been stung on a fairly large scale by something sinister. Particularly as credit cards were banned earlier this month, I wouldn't have thought removing 2 of the other major methods (bank deposit and BPay) would have been good business practice.
Anyway I digress, in short my guess is you'd be ok but things are definitely happening behind the scenes for whatever reason so who knows.
