Calculating some Percentages

Hi all,

Total Bet Angel Newbie here, only downloaded yesterday. Spent hours and hours on the forum reading and trying stuff, can't get my calculations to work.

1) I want to take the "Volume of a selection" for each runner at a specific moment in time.

2) Then take another "Volume of a selection" for each runner at a later moment in time.

3) Calculate the percentage increase. And show this answer for every runner.

So if snapshot 1 above was £100 and snapshot 2 above was £110, the increase would be 10% - this is what I want to see appear on my ladder interface (10%)

My method would be:
Use the value of the last (higher) number 110
Deduct the original number (100)
Equalling 10
Divide this increase (10) by the original number (100)
Equalling 0.1
Muliplying this number (0.1) by 100
0.1 x 100 equals 10% the answer.

The main reason it doesn't work for me is because I'm trying to alter other peoples template files from the forum, I've put the data in, but the results aren't showing.
Ha, ha, I'm off to have a break before my head falls off messing with it.

Have a look at this , use SV = snap3 for the % and change the times
Store Value (Shared) for Egypt Olympic: snap3 = 0.1 * 100 = 10

Rule one would store the value of 'A selections Volume' at your specified time with the name for example '10mins'
Rule two would store the Value of 'A selections Volume' at your specified time with the name '5mins'

Rule two would then have a 2nd stored value set up as follows
Store a value named 'per_calculation'
with another stored value
named '10mins'
divided by
another stored value
named '5mins'

Rule two would then have a 3rd stored value set up as follows
Store a value (shared) named 'percentage_change'
with another stored value
named 'per_calculation'
Multiplied by
An Entered Amount
100

The stored value named 'percentage_change' will now have the percentage increase, which you can use to trigger other rules with or display on your ladder/one-click screen

Obviously you can use whatever names you want for the stored values, those I've used above were just for the purpose of setting out the example

Just so I know do the ladders have to have any data entered to correspond and have a specific file to use along with this?

Or do I just need to get the .baf file correct and it will work with any ladder set up?

You'd enter the name of the stored value you want to display on the 'Additional Information' tab within your ladder settings area
