Is there a way to reduce latency using a VPN or VPS?

I rely greatly on little latency as an in-running trader. In the midst of utilizing a VPN, I have Dublin selected as my location.

What about in-running trading? I was wondering if a virtual private server (VPS) would be significantly faster than a VPN. Is there a discernible difference in latency between VPN services? I would be very grateful for any advice or information you could provide.

A VPN will route through another server before reaching Betfair, whereas a VPS is more direct.

There is an limit to what it is worth doing. Betfair don't respond on a call, everything is cycled. So if you call it faster and faster you just get stale data.

So you may be headed down a blind path.
