New/amended Premier League rules for the coming season. Possibly see less penalties for soft handballs, less added on time due for goal celebrations and VAR (bar raised for VAR intervention) (PL calculate it at 1min 38s less per match) to name a couple.

Semi-Automated offsides won't be implemented until September/October as it's not ready apparently.

Have to see how its' all implemented by the officials in first few rounds but overall maybe see a slight reduction in average goals compared to last season.

It will be interesting to see how much added time here is, as that would have a direct impact.

Sheff Utd (104 conceded) shipped a record amount of goals and Luton (85 conceded) also made it into the all time top 10 for goals conceded in a season so be interesting to see how the the new boys stack up defensively compared to Sheff Utd & Luton, Ipswich do look like the whipping boys mind.

The video assistant referee system will have a higher bar for intervening than before.

The "referee’s call" means that the VAR should only intervene if they can "see without any doubt the on-pitch official has made a clear mistake".

That sounds very similar to "clear and obvious error".

Seems they're finally accepting what Video Assistant Referee really means.

The Premier league VAR teams seemed to interpret it differently compared to our european counterparts when it was first implemented and used it to "control" the game more and effectively slow the game down, confusing the on-field referee.

It still led to poor decision making and errors which the on-field referee is more than able to do themsleves! That's all part of the charm of the beautiful game...

The market usually finds out a bit earlier anyway, def something to be aware of if actively trading

EDIT: Actually there should be some favs drifting and stuff early in the season, if market expects strongest lineups but key players may not be quite ready yet

I was once in a directors box and saw the entire team sheet, which was completely different from what was expected, a couple of hours before kick off.

So somebody always knows. But if you want to trade it, just look for those signs.

Yeah, the FPL crowd seems to be in the know, sometimes surprisingly early too

Always people ahead of the curve but still a slice of the pie to be had for us mortals. Ten Haag gave us a bit of a clue the other day at the press conference, always worth watching the pressers to garner info sometimes they gave nothing away other times not so.

That said with the Euro's and Copa America in the summers along with new signings/injuries from last season fitness always a bit of an issue with some players. Smith-Rowe is a good example for Fulham only good for 60 mins tonight after injuries last season.

It just shows if you put a little bit of effort in you don't need to do a lot for a few ticks pre-match.
