Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
So I am really interested in the idea of trading horse racing markets in the minutes before off time. I've watched quite a few and it's incredible how much the odds can move in those final few minutes.
When I watched the odds with cross matching on it was hard to understand where the money is coming from, whether it is money being layed on horses or money wanting to be backed. But I guess it is gives you a clearer overall picture of the betting market.
However, watching the betting markets with cross matching off does give a clear indication on the genuine money on wanting to be backed/layed for each horse.
Do the more experienced traders have a preference of which of these two options is more useful when trading?
Thanks for any advice.
Do you prefer to trade using cross matching on or off?
It really is a bit of a catch 22.
I have a hotkey that I can trigger from my mouse that switches between the 2 modes. That’s for the reasons you mention. My main primary set up was, XM on then a quick switch off, have a look at the market, then back on.
One of the main reasons for having XM on, it gives you a better idea of where the resistance is.
As you say, “it is gives you a clearer overall picture of the betting market.”
The problem you have with switching, it can cause charts and automation to give false information.
Now days, I just have it turned off, mainly for automation reasons.
If I had to choose one or the other, XM would be on.
