this is.... Guardian's Little Helper
What is Guardian’s Little Helper (GLH)?
It’s an application that helps you manage your Guardian market list. I found that continually having to populate the list of markets in Guardian is a bit frustrating and you have to remember to keep it topped up and remove old markets that have finished. This tool will automatically populate the list and remove old markets that have closed.
What’s more there are some markets that don’t appear until quite close to the start time and if you only do the manual updating once a day you could easily miss them.

email me at [email protected] with I WANT GLH in the subject line
you will receive an invitation to install GLH and make your Guardian experience a little easier. It's completely free!
There is also full documentation on how to use it.
Guardian's Little Helper
How Does it Work?
The software uses Bet Angel API to communicate. This is a library of low level functions that any application can interact with (that Bet Angel have provided) and it allows you to do stuff in Guardian that you would otherwise manually do.
You do need to enable the API on Bet Angel but it’s quite straightforward.
Why do I need it?
When you load up Guardian with all the markets you have to remember to keep the list topped up with new markets
This can be ultra tedious and quite often you might simply forget to do it.
This tool will do it for you by constantly applying the markets defined in the coupon and it will also take off old markets that have closed (once it reaches a threshold)
What does the software look like?
Its a small console application where you specify which BetAngel instance you want to communicate with, the coupon and up to 6 Automation files that can run against each market simulatanously How long does it run for?
As long as you want - once you start it, it will continue to run.
How do I get it?
Email [email protected] with the subject I WANT GLH
I'll send a reply straightaway with details on how to install.

Hi Ads13 the answer is no to both questions but there again I only released it earlier in the week. I hope they do of course.
If you're concerned then my advice would be to install it and try it out in practice mode.
When you manually apply a rule to a market, that rule runs against the market. GLH is doing this automatically. It applies the rule to all the markets and keeps doing this to new markets that appear in Guardian.

So it effectively turns Guardian into a 24/7 bot. That will be a great help with Australian dogs that Bf don't load until after I retire for the night. Sounds wonderful ... thanks for creating and being willing to share it.
I have just released a new version. This includes a couple of new optional parameters. --Period defines the period to refresh. By default this is 60 (mins) but allows you to define any number of minutes. The other is --RemoveMarket this allows you to specify a market SV that when set to 1 will remove the market from Guardian. This is useful where you need to declutter the Guardian market list.

You'll like that, nothing better than completely forgetting about trading while you're on your hols. But not having to lose any wages.
I've just noticed it's 20yrs since the product was launched .... I wasn't around much this year, was there a big fuss made of the landmark anniversary? My subscription runs out tomorrow and I'm wondering if there's a link to an anniversary discount for long term users
Ah makes sense. Possibly because it allows people to disengage. They want people to have Betfair at the front of their mind.
Well thats my tin foil hypothesis

Betfair didn't want people constantly pulling down the latest markets, so they have never given us approval for this feature.
