96 players is a bit to many IMO and the quality in the 1st round in general has been poor bar the 9 darter from Christian Kist mainly averages in the 80's is county level stuff but the atmosphere is still fantastic.
I struggle to trade darts because I enjoy watching it too much and feel I'm missing out on the atmosphere when concentrating on the trades.

The first match tonight goes some way to proving your point: Goto with a three-dart average of 76 at the end of the first set.

And picking up a couple of legs even the crowd is a bit subdued. I can't remember who it was but the other day there was a 30 odd dart leg that's not worthy of the World Champs or being on TV.Lynskey888 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 7:37 pmThe first match tonight goes some way to proving your point: Goto with a three-dart average of 76 at the end of the first set.
I'm still watching though

Atmosphere and averages seem to be picking up a bit, but I think it's a combination of the bigger names playing at the weekend plus the pissheads in the crowd not having work in the morning. Barney was absolutely shocking just now, a shadow of his former game.

The quality is bound to improve as the field is reduced. It’s awfully inconsistent just now.
Cullen vs Nijman this afternoon saw both players finishing on a three-dart average of 98. That was in sharp contrast to Edhouse vs White. The first set was awful with averages of 81 and 72 respectively, although admittedly the standard improved as the game progressed.
I found this afternoon’s session a bit of a trading wasteland. Think I ended up with two quid for my efforts.

Don’t suppose anyone has the Daryl Gurney chart from last night? Cheers!

Didn't know Paddy Power were giving 1000 to Prostate Cancer Research for every 180, it's cost them 34k so far tonight and long may it continue!

Littler is an unbelievable player and will rule darts for a long time if he wishes and has world titles in him that's clear to see so it's for this reason I'd like to see Dobey or Bunting win the tournament. Dobey is a north-east lad so be great to see him win coming from the north-east, Bunting just comes across as happy go lucky and as genuine as they come.
MVG will win it now I've said the above

That first set last night... Three legs in three and a half minutes with a three-dart average of 119.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 2:04 pmLittler is an unbelievable player and will rule darts for a long time if he wishes...

I'm not sure who'll win, but I'm positive the side markets trade better when Littler is playing.

MVG has been hit and miss this year but seems to be back on it, Littler unbelievably consistent. Think it'll boil down to who holds they're nerve on the doubles and takes out more 100+ checkouts as both will score heavy.
Hopefully we're in for a classic.

I think I've an old set of arrows somewhere - what's the entry cut-off for next year?Lynskey888 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 7:37 pmThe first match tonight goes some way to proving your point: Goto with a three-dart average of 76 at the end of the first set.
