Text comparison with other conditions

Hi all

I'm loading a list of horses for text comparison, but can't quite get my other settings/conditions to work with it.

I paste the list in and looking at the logs in Guardian, that part is working, but I don't seem to be able to get other conditions applied and working properly.

What I want to do is add all of the days races to Guardian and apply the rule, which will lay the third favourite at bet time if it is on the list; if it isn't on the list then no bet.

I have managed to get all sorts of combinations, but the only time it works as I hoped it would is when the 3rd favourite is on the list.

There are other conditions as well that appears to work - I suspect that I may have set up the rules wrongly, but I have messed about with "Applies to selection" in the General tab, and haven't figured this out. When I set the selection in General tab to "in position 3 (sorted in order of favouritism)", that seems to over-ride the selection in the text comparison list and bet (I'm in practice mode) the 3rd favourite regardless of it's name. I've tried changing the "Applies to selection" settings in general and messing about with the text comparison condition in the conditions, but to no avail - I'm not sure how, but at one point it bet on the favourite, despite the log showing that it had recognized the listed horse.

The text comparison condition for selection_name is the first condition in the list.

I am missing something key (and probably obvious) here, but I'm just not "getting" it.

That is how I had this set up, so I think I must have mucked something else up!

I will build the strategy out bit by bit from this base and that should hopefully show me where I'm getting it wrong. I really appreciate you taking the time to confirm this for me though, thank you!
