I have a question on scalping.

If I were to scalp on each horse in a race, would this be flagged by Betfair as being too much activity perhaps or would it fall over, is it allowed etc?

I'm just thinking say it's a 16 horse race and back and lays are firing off all the same time x16, is this sort of thing considered okay to do?

It's not just OK it's actively encouraged, punters need to see money to bet against, when they do it creates liquidity, and that's good for both us and for Betfair. It's quite common for people to offer money to the market on every selection in every market 247 so they don't mind the traffic.

Just be mindful of the Ts&Cs about transaction charges. More than 5k an hour and they're 0.2p each but commission generated offsets that charge. But a strategy should usually make more than 0.2p/trn. Even with just 8 selections active and a transaction (place or cancel) every second it's nearly 29,000 an hour so they do rack up.

That’s music to my ears.

Thank you both 😊👍🏻
