Hello, everyone,
I'm importing multiple tennis marketplaces into Guardian to automate them. Because these markets often start at different times, I'd like to limit the refresh to only those that are about to start. I enabled the "Refresh Restrict" option and specified the values that I believe are adequate. However, it appears that no matter what settings I use, just a few specific marketplaces continue to refresh.
Just to confirm my knowledge (and maybe prevent any glaring errors!:lol):
Seconds before start time: Is this the number of seconds before the specified start time that the market starts to refresh?
Seconds after start time: Does this refer to the time after the market enters play during which refreshes continue until they stop?
Using a voucher to populate Guardian. Will this effect the refresh restriction settings?
I know I could set the refresh rate as low as 20ms, but it seems inefficient and possibly not in line with Betfair's requirements.
Thank you in advance for any advice!
Guardian: Restrict Refresh Issue
Seconds before the start time - your assumption is correct
Seconds after the start time - refers to the 'official start time' (not the time the market/match actually starts)
Also the software will periodically refresh markets outside the restricted refresh time so it can check for suspensions etc

Excellent elucidation! Understanding the software refresh behavior can help you distinguish between the official start time and actual market activity, which is crucial for managing updates. What a generous gift!Dallas wrote: ↑Fri May 16, 2025 12:03 pmSeconds before the start time - your assumption is correct

The data is streamed from Betfair, not requested. There's no downside to using the fastest resfresh rate.isaachackett wrote: ↑Fri May 16, 2025 12:00 pmbut it seems inefficient and possibly not in line with Betfair's requirements.
