Hi there. I backed Vegas before the off at 1,000 to 1 (just a pound mind), along with a few other small back bets so my overall liability is £10. Should I trade out now bearing in mind Vegas double bogey the 18th hole last night? Or put some bigger back bets on current favourites, such as scheffler and the like. Just interested to hear if anyone has any opinions. Thanks!

Well done picking Vegas at 999/1.

His distance accuracy isnt that good (96) on my list, but hes clearly in some fair recent form.

Cash-out depends on a lot of factors. A lot is personal choice of banking some return for being 'right' and how important the
money is to you.

If you do decide to cash-out, dont just hit the cash-out figure offered by Betfair.

Rather just lay him on the exchange - I am assuming you have an account etc, and this isnt just a sportsbook bet.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I can't claim any great insight. I just had the idea in my head that the PGA sometimes throws up an outsider from out of the blue and I researched outsiders in some form and his name came up.

That is on the exchange I found that more often than not the cash out option aligns with the green up function on bet angels one click tab.

My problem is I still have a Punters mindset with regards to taking profit and stop losses etc. it's only a few quid I suppose.

Fair play for picking Vegas! 😎

As Megarain says, whatever you decide, don’t close out by pressing the cashout button. Work out what you want to do and use a back/lay calculator to decide on the amounts (I assume you’re using the website rather than Bet Angel.)

Have you got the “what if?” function turned on? You can make a selection by clicking on the odds, type in your stake and the site will show you how that affects your position (next to the green/red current profit/loss figure.)

You could, for example, lay Vegas now for a tenner at 15.5, which would mean you won’t lose anything on the market. But that will, of course, reduce your potential winnings on Vegas by £145.

I’m not advising you to do this! I wouldn’t offer counsel suggesting any particular approach. Goodness knows, I’m rotten at letting my winners run! I just get the impression you may be new to all this so I’m trying to give you an idea of what’s possible.

EDIT: I see you are on Bet Angel. Good luck!

One newish point about cash-out is the impact the loss will have on your account balance.

If all your picks lose, given the red tape to deposit money, replacing the 7 quid might need a DNA sample/proof of income.

For recreationals, this crap might lead them to cash-out at the extra profit margin they have calculated for
themselves.

Maybe lay him back for £20ish allround and 500ish on him. Still fun to be had. Or maybe 30 and 350. etc. Though the double on 18 was v poor. Nicely done though. Or maybe cash the lot out and punt on the final round with more info.

I always trade out at the cut. The setup traditionally gets harder on days 3 & 4.

Thanks for the replies.

I couldn't resist leaving it as a bet!

Scotty scheffler really showed his class yesterday didn't he? What a back nine that was
