New Betfair price charts
Not sure I like the weak lavender colour for both price and volume, makes viewing a little hard.
I think the one major change they could make is to show the data as log charts (or at least have a button to change the scale), the data is exponential in nature, for me at least, it makes viewing the data much clearer! See attached the same price data, but one on a log scale.

The new charts are a great improvement. How will this affect the charts pulled via BetAngel? Assume the new charts will become visible?
Seeing as Bet Angel is still using a Windows "Aero" UI circa 2006, I can't imagine anything will be rushed outMike Oxlong wrote: ↑Thu Jul 31, 2025 11:37 amThe new charts are a great improvement. How will this affect the charts pulled via BetAngel? Assume the new charts will become visible?

Ladder index would have been a decent y-axis too, ie spaced as if on a 1-351 scale so that all ticks are evenly spaced. And that also cures the problem of needing to use %chance when there's a big range of prices.
And a dark mode is long overdue too.

Do they look better though?? I find the pale colour of the chart and volume a massive step backwards. When they overlap, you can't even see the price...
And for a company turning over at least £150M a year, it seems like a pretty basic UI design mistake

Probably a little less than 150m given that revenue is down from 2022. The concern is that they only made about 5mill. That's less than some of their customers and chicken feed in the Flutter empire.

It would be better if the volume and price colours were more distinguishable, but having data that is time based rather than price change based is a huge win for me. It's also very useful to have the in-play time-stamp shown. Shame the data still disappears on market closure.
Yes all the extra data very much welcome!jamesedwards wrote: ↑Thu Jul 31, 2025 3:37 pmIt would be better if the volume and price colours were more distinguishable, but having data that is time based rather than price change based is a huge win for me. Sounds like a real risk they wont survive the next recession, all their tech would probably be gobbled up by Coates...?ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Thu Jul 31, 2025 3:23 pmProbably a little less than 150m given that revenue is down from 2022. Their demise has been rumoured for 10+yrs so who knows. All you can do is make hay while the sun shines and take some comfort in the way they're still investing in the product.
