I think it would be good if the volume graph in Guardian showed how much money was traded on the horse I'm looking at, rather than the race as a whole.
Surely that information is more relevant, as I'm only interested in the horse I'm trading.

Volume graph
The volume column in Guardian is brilliant for highlighting the markets with most liquidity.
How will Guardian know which horse you wish to trade on? Surely, many traders will switch their targets due to changing opportunities.
When it comes to sports markets, I'll quite often do dutching or bookmaking when the book is ideal. How would this work on Guardian?
Unless I'm not totally grasping your request, it seems totally unnecessary to me

But surely the only liquidity you're interested in is the liquidity on the horse or result you're trading.
If there's a spike or a lull in the volume traded on the horse I'm focusing on, it might mean that a change in price direction is imminent.
Also, knowing how much money is being traded on the horse I'm interested in tells me how likely it is that my order will be matched.
And I'm not sure how useful overall volume is. When you arrive at a horse race or a big football match 5 minutes before the off, you already know that, for all practical purposes, there will be plenty of liquidity!

I pretty much disagree with everything you've just said
If your worried about spikes on the horse you're interested in, then you don't want to be watching Guardian, you need to be involved in the action
With regards to sports trading, the overall volume is useful to determine which markets are the best to trade on 4-5 hours before the off.
I don't need Guardian to tell me how much has been traded on an individual selection with just 5mins to go. With only 5mins to go, I'll be on the ladder not Guardian

I know it's possible to use just the ladder to trade.
However, I feel that the graphs give a useful perspective of the character and direction of the market. Also, the moving averages are useful in helping you to ensure you cut losses and let profits run.

To clarify, what I'm suggesting is that the current graph, which relates to the whole event, be substituted for one relating to the selection that the upper portion of the screen relates to.

Graphs are very useful, but you were talking about putting them into Guardian
Hi SB
I could, but the market overview screen doesn't include an option for 'Last traded price'. I like to be able to see what's been happening in terms of price action.
