Reversing the ladder is something I've seen in the past with other traders but I just can't get my head around it. I'm so used to having the back on the right and the lay on the left. Can anyone tell me what are the advantages of reversing it so backs on the left and lays on the right?

If you are used to having the ladder setup that way then I suggest you stick with it. Unless you feel you can change your normal use in a short period of time then don't bother trying.

There is no real advantage to reversing the ladder, in fact it isn't necessary at all provided you remember to ask for a price and offer money at a price. e.g. If a horse is 2.16 to back and 2.18 to lay, you should be asking to back it at 2.18 and lay it at 2.16 on most occasions. Obviously you might find a real mover and then you have to quickly get in and match an order.

The main advantage of the ladder (reversed or not) is that you can place orders anywhere you like at the price you are willing to accept.

Hope that helps.
