Is it just me, or are Man U a bit high at 1.63?

United have won 5 or the last 6 encounters between the two teams.

United have the wind in their sails, whereas Liverpool have been playing poorly. And whilst Man U have quite possibly the best manager in history, Liverpool are like a ship with no rudder, with an under-fire manager and no chief executive.

What do you guys think?

It does look enticing doesn't it? I'll do some work on it.

Surely those results are selective? If not it would be one hell of a run!

Away win - 2009 - Southampton vs Brighton Result - 1-3
I remember this one, Southampton were on the march and Brighton had just appointed Gus Poyet as manager. Televised and I was there to watch the match go completely against form.

The data is interesting in that only 50% of these matches ended in a home win. But Man Utd don't appear in either of the first two tables.

Was trying to work out whether there would be a relief rally in Liverpool or not? Sacking the day before a big match? Not sure it will have a positive effect or will players put an extra effort out to impress the new boss?

Earlier this morning before the sacking they said that Daglish was abroad on holiday for another week so if true who knows who exactly will be in charge for the game

Edit - OK looks like he's put the speedos away and is back

I can't see morale being any lower than it would have been under Hodgson. And Dalglish has the fans' support, and if they're full of confidence, that can only lift the Liverpool players.

And don't football teams normally play better when they get a new manager? Even England tend to play with a bit of zest when a new manager arrives! :)

1.76 now. I'm not a Liverpool fan but I do want ManU to lose. These FA matches are at times upside down. So I'll go for Liverpool. And a bet for fun on - 0:0 Chelsea-Ipswich @ 29

Dalglish is a massive boost for Liverpool. But even if the Liverpool players play at 150% they will struggle to beat Man U at OT.

As a Liverpool fan I have to say that half of the team are not fit to wear the famous red shirt. That isn't down to Hodgson, that is down to Benitez.

King Kenny will need a miracle to turn them around

In fairness, could Hodgson not have bought in some quality players over the summer, and sold the poorer players?

Jeff,

Did he have any money? The club was in the middle of an ownership change. He got Joe Cole on a free transfer. Joe Cole at his best is near world class, but he hasn't been fit and that is obvious. Although Cole was signed before he arrived who wouldn't want him?

Paul Konchesky isn't good enough for Liverpool and neither is Christian Poulsen. In the past Liverpool have had the huge success they have enjoyed since the Shankly days by buying good young talent and developing it. The back room team, the famous "Boot Room" were all bought through. Joe Fagan, Bob Paisley, Roy Evans, Ronnie Moran and ultimately Souness and Dalglish. They learnt the Liverpool way.

Who will thrive under Dalglish? Gerrard - who has grew up at Liverpool will look upon Dalglish as God himself, and Torres who I believe to be the best striker Liverpool have had since Dalglish.

If Kenny can turn things around, John Henry will find it impossible to remove him unless he wants a riot on his hands. As he proclaims himself to listen to fans he has backed himself into a corner here.

However badly things go for the rest of season, True Liverpool fans will NEVER turn on King Kenny

Wow

I hope nobody on here backed U2.5, or 0-0 hoping to green up after 5mins?
