Hello everyone,

I'm just starting and getting used to BA. I need to exit trades automatically in play with a lay bet having placed a back bet pre inplay on Tennis and Cricket outsiders. The exit point will normally be well above evens for example 6.0 and the entry point on the back miles away at say 3.0. I need to do this all before the game starts.

My question is which method to use. Stop loss or one click stop loss or automation tab? I am conscious that there is more liquidity on the other team at say 1.2 so doing a back bet may be best on the other team rather than a lay at 6.0 or just below but as I don't know what price I will be matched at 1.2 the stakes will be unbalanced whereas if I back at 3.0 and lay £100 at around 6.0 they will cancel out if the team looses. I am aware that betfair will cross match my bet but was also thinking whether one could make the trigger 1.2 on the other team for a lay at/around 6.0 (say 5.7 or so) on the original player as so much more is matched on the backside of the opponent at low odds - I don't want to miss my exit.
If I need to get out so I assume on automation if I back I set it to bet 1.01 with say a window of 1.18-1.22 and if I lay say at 10 with a window of 4.5-5.5 to guarantee getting matched at the best price available? I am worried about the lack of liquidity on the layside at higher prices and the inabilty of the software to trigger. I don't have to be super precise on my exits as long as things balance out over time.

Also I would like to try filling each side on a Tennis match at various odds below evens - I assume the automation tab works well? I was thinking of having the price rance at say 1.45 - 1.55 for say 1.50 matches as my trigger - I was wondering if that was too tight? I am going to be trading games with at least £50K matched at the start preferrably £200K.
I have spent months looking at past data and am happy with my methods - it's just the excecution and automation that needs sorting out - famous last words!

Anyway as a newbie to automation any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Alastair
