Morning,
Just looking to hone and refine my pre play...
A general question (apologies if it has been asked before, but couldn't find it)...
Who leads with market prices, Bookmakers or Betfair ?
regards
Peter

Have a close look also at Pinnacle Sports.
There are some bookmakers who are constantly changing their prices - Pinnacle, Boyles and Canbet are the main ones. These bookies are driven by BF prices and possible BF WOM, but the more established bookmakers tend to be more stable.CaerMyrddin wrote:Have a close look also at Pinnacle Sports.

Hi, I'm sorry but I can't agree on this one LeTiss and would say prices on BF are driven by Pinnacle and 5Dimes and not he opposite, as they have have very low juices and very high limits, but of course you won't do a good job simply by following these books. These bookies are driven by BF prices and possible BF WOM, but the more established bookmakers tend to be more stable.
PeterLe, my access to the Pinnacle Sports site was limited due to 'hammering', doing something like what you want to do, so I would be cautious on this approach

Now that's something I'd be interested in PeterPeterLe wrote:Thanks Guys,
Do they auto refresh their prices?
(I'm looking for something that constantly refreshes the screen, If the above sites dont - I read about Windows macros that will do the same job perhaps?)
Thanks
Peter
I've tried to find ways of importing a bookmakers price into excel, then issuing a command when a price moves
Due to not being an excel expert though, I gave up as it seems a very complicated procedure
I think it's a chicken and egg scenarioCaerMyrddin wrote:Hi, I'm sorry but I can't agree on this one LeTiss and would say prices on BF are driven by Pinnacle and 5Dimes and not he opposite, as they have have very low juices and very high limits, but of course you won't do a good job simply by following these books.
These bookies definitely change prices as BF do. However that can be down to traders waiting to see what's shortening on Pinnacle before they open a trade on BF, as well as vica-versa

agreed, its no real help anymore as most of the above named seem to be plugged into betfair, if you go on betchronicle.com its funny to see how their odds interact in perfect timing with betdaq!
arbing must be a tough business to make money .

Am I right in thinking that these guys are run by the same company, (the global betting exchange)? I noticed that when betdaq went down last weekend so did bet chronicle. I think 32red's sportsbook may be the same aswell.oddstrader wrote:I think it's a chicken and egg scenario

I'm not 100% sure, as I asked a cousin to develop the tool, I'm not a programer, but I would say it updated at a similar rate as the one you are considering.
I must add it only actually made me profit once before I was 'disconnected'. I still remember it, it was on an Europa league match. Also, before having this small app I was using Excel but it only updated once every 30'? It was somewhat boring, having to update the market links everyday, but it worked.
