In Grid view I frequently refer to the LTP when deciding on a position.
Often I prefer to use the Ladder view, but there is no LTP indicator (other vendors' trading software have this). Sure the prices do flash a color but it is not persistent. So it is easy to miss or forget.
:(
It would be really useful if either there was a LTP indicator at the top of the ladder or if there was a setting to make the LTP color flash persistent (that would be really cool).

At the moment I have a cumbersome way to achieve a visible LTP indicator. When running BA in Ladder view, I also run another vendor's trading software with a tiny ladder pinned over BA showing just the selection name and the LTP. It's ugly but it works. Of course it would be far better it this was done from within BA.
:o
For me the lack of LTP in Ladder view is the only important thing missing in BA that is routinely included in other trading software.

I am sure that could be implemented, we are just conscious that we don't want to drown people with information. So maybe there can be a discussion on how best to implement this?

You could use the one click screen.Remove all the buttons and charts ,silks ect.Except LTP(save as a one click screen) then resize it and pin that on top of the ladder. Then you can save it as a screen view.

I had thought about this...
Let's say I am using the Enhanced Ladder to follow just one horse. The horse is the third in the market. How do I get the One Click screen to show only the LTP for that horse? I don't want to see the LTP for all the other horses, that would get confusing. Then, when I use the Enhanced Ladder's drop down list to view another horse, would the reduced One Click screen automatically change to show the LTP for the horse that I am now viewing?

Personally I use LTP advanced chart when trading. I place it over the normal chart on the enhanced ladder. You may want to try that, depending on your current set up.
Make sure on the advanced chart you select ladder 1 to make it change whenever you change runner.
I guess the most practical way to implement the suggestion would be to leave the LTP highlighted.

I gave this a try, but it's kinda ugly looking. I already use the charts in Enhanced Ladder, so another chart to follow is not so handy.

What I really need is the LTP shown as a big bold number in a place where it is easy to take a quick glance at. There is plenty of space for it in the Enhanced Ladder view to the right of the ladder.

How about making the Enhanced Ladder view customizable, like the Grid view is. Then there could be options for showing a big LTP numerically (with color options, up, down and no move). Another option could be to change the existing, "flash" LTP color to make it persistent.

These improvements wouldn't "drown people with information" if they were options for a customizable Enhanced Ladder.

I would also like the LTP to be shown at the top of each Ladder ~ this would be a simple yet very useful additional update :)

I think BA is right - sometimes there can be too much information. Perhaps it would be better if such things as adding LTP were an "option" rather than hardcoded into the ladder. many people use multiple monitors which can be useful for separating out information but still having it available.

In the centre column there is a space at the BOTTOM of each ladder inbetween the 3 row totals for the back and for the lay side ~ this space is currently unoccupied and could happily house the LTP figure.

...another possibility would be for the LTP background to change and stay a different shade of blue compared to the other odds in the centre column (which are navy) until another price is traded when those would then become the LTP colour.

...or the foreground white could change colour if you prefer, but that would be less visible.

(If this feature slows down the system too much in fast moving inplay markets, perhaps it automatically would be switched off when a market went inplay.)

Hi All,

Just been rereading this thread about LTP and I would love to have it in the centre of a ladder for example..

Why? sometimes I trade on a small laptop (not good I know) But it would be really helpfull, especially if going in running.

Plus each runners traded volume, maybe squeezed in too

Hope others may feel the same

groovy :?:

I have been looking at some other (clunky) packages and loved the LTP chart next to the ladder for each displayed runner which those packages offered. Makes it very easy to see ltp and support/resistance.
Any chance of BA getting this? I know it is nearly there with the existing charts but a single ladder component integrated would be easier to use.
