Obviously paranoia, but so far today I have lost on every single Kempton and Lingfield race. Three each. Been up on most of them but have plunged to a loss in the dying seconds on each occasion. Very weird.

i been thinking for a while now that something funny is going on with betfair markets in general they seem so odd compaired to what they used too ,

whether it's cross matching or lack of money about,
i really don't know, but it's very difficult job these days  .

Apart from a dropped connection about 2.45, I have had a great day. Every race working out well and just one scratch so far.

Feels to me like someone is massively manipulating pretty much every runner, pushing them one way, then the other and at times bailing with some large stakes producing some big spikes. Hard to trust any of the money coming in when its like this

For once, I have been more consistent than Peter ... as I have managed to lose at each racecourse, I'm not selective where I lose money. :)

Kempton, I have found ok, but Lingfield have only traded 1 race and got spanked. When there is a gap of 15 mins or more between 2 races and the preceding race is short it makes the following race very tricky, so tricky in fact I have given up trading those types of markets.

I wouldn't normally say much, as every now and again you have good and bad runs / days. But losing all six I estimate is around a once a year chance or 1/15625 trails. Very unlikely, but not impossible.

Hurrah, just won at Kempton. Not convinced with this big gap to Lingfield though!

getting done today by the table tennis effect of the man with the deep wallet, really frustrating, a punch bag would come in handy

For me, that Goodwood 4.20 was a fine example of how tricky the markets are today, just not quite going the way it reads.

Hi
If it's any consolation, a similar pattern has been developing in the in running too.
I posted something on here a few weeks ago about them potentially taking a big hit. I think they must of as it went back to normal and the cycle started again.
I cant see mathematically how they can be net positive, so sometime it is a case of waiting and sitting tight till they have tried a strategy and determined that it doesn't work.
Or maybe I'm being paranoid!! :)
Regards
Peter

It's nice to be able to share frustrations on a tough day! 8-)

I have picked up five winners in a row so pulling it together a bit now. But did a lot of damage at the start. :(

Hoping for a better second half of the session.

I had a real roller coaster ride on the 3:00 Lingfield. I was trading Circus Act and there was some merit in that name. I was in a +ve position and then got caught on my next 3 trades. There were several bets of £4K that hit the market which drove the price down. SOmeone was keen to get the price down because when the price moved away from their money they dropped it down 2 ticks.

Then on the way back up, another £4K appeared only this time it was pulled. I got in at the basement and it moved 6 ticks in my favour so I turned around a potential loss to scrape a small profit.

There's defiintely someone doing something weird, I have noticed several times today on horses around 4/1 to 8/1 mark someones putting a back bet into the market of at least 3k and taking it out again and it's doing my nut in!!!!

Finally a decent trading window at Lingfield! I am overcome with emotion.
