hi there,
am pretty computer un-savvy so just wondering if any of you can tell me is it possible to use betangel on an ipad or tablet with mobile broadband. Was recently in a trading room in dublin where they charged £40 a day and made a nice days profit on in running bets. Their main advantage is sis pictures that are ahead of at the races etc available through satelitte t.v
Just figured i could do the same in running betting for free in a bookies. Would mobile broadband be quick enough if u can run bet angel on an ipad?
would really appreciate any answer from somebody with good tech knowledge(better than mine anyway!)

Bet Angel will not run on an iPad unless you use remote desktop to a server. That all adds to the cost. You could look at a new tablet PC that runs Windows and then you should not have a problem.
I cannot see the bookmaker being too happy though if you stand in his shop and place bets on a tablet PC.

thanks for the reply,
my cousin runs a private bookies shop so that wont be the problem. What i found in the trading room that is that if u have a good eye for race reading its easy enough to back a horse travelling well in running at a price and lay it back at half a point or a point less for a freebet if u have done ur homework on the runners. As long as u get in and then trade out b4 the 2 furlong pole u should complete your trade b4 the on track punters who are another 2 secs ahead have a definite opinion on the result.

This worked well for me upto a point when i was doing inplay trading, but i found i made more profits pre race trading and took this course ever since. I got my feet bitten enough with the 2 furlong pole strategy but with faster pictures it may well pay off, but not with a 5f dash, you will be lucky to keep your stake in one of thoseglennon wrote:thanks for the reply,

I started doing this many years back. I mentioned in another post that I was laughed at by the old school punters who said it wouldn't work. There are now teams of on-course traders and they take it very seriously.
Sadly a lot of the people delude themselves about technology and this easy money they can supposedly make. I'm from an Technical Engineering & Design background and I was paid to advise some of these "teams" on equipment and technology. I told them the basic technical truth but only a few listened, the rest wanted to believe they had stumbled up the Goose that laid that the golden egg. One of the supposed gurus lost £60,000 in three days and he has not been seen again since.
There is only so much of the pie available and whereas 4 years ago there were a handful of people doing it there are now many more. They are all trying to grab a slice of the pie and we all know that pie is probably shrinking. That is not good news because more people are trying very hard to eat the smaller pie and they are not content with a small slice they want the whole pie.
I am not saying it cannot work but as mentioned by Alpha322 you can get burnt very easily. No matter what you do, in running, pre race or straight punting you need to concentrate on what you are good at and stick to it. I am not suggesting you will, but do not get sucked into the belief that is easy money and the path to instant riches.
Good luck, if you want advice then just ask.
