Do they let a horse run when it is loose and stands no chance of winning? First race 5f at Newbury, horse chucks Spencers and belts off for more than the race distance. Oh yes, lets load that horse and let it run. Just doesn't make sense!?!?!

I'm sure I've seen one of those go on to win though!

last winter, I definitely remember a horse holding a race up for 5mins whilst it was running loose.

It then jumped perfectly & won

John Francombe on Channel 4 racing, has said more than once that it may "warm up" a horse pre race, and that perhaps more horses would benefit from it......

There was a race earlier this year when a horse broke free for about 6 minutes it must have run about 3 or 4 furlongs. It still looked alert when they loaded it so I put a small back bet on it and it won by miles. I found it gave me a better idea how the horse would run and it did look good.

Cheers
