Hi,
I'm betting in-play and therefore want to back the winner, but I want to put a stop loss on my bets just in case.
Am I able to do this without placing an offset bet (the one which is eventually modified to become the stop loss).
Even if I place the offset bet at 1.01 it still loses some profit.

You may want to use the one click stop loss on the ladder?

Yes, but unfortunately my bets are handled by a spreadsheet.
I was aware of that though, and it's odd that you can do it on the ladder but if you try and set a stop through global settings or a spreadsheet it requires that you place an offset bet first.

If youre using the spreadsheet you could set a trigger depending on the odds. If you have backed to win, set a lay to fire if the odds drift out to certain point and you have a matched back bet. Its like a manual stop loss rather than using the scripts included on the sheet.

Use an IF statement to test for the odds as per the user manual.
Re your comment about laying a winner @1.01. It doesnt drain much profit and consider the alternatives if you dont.
1) Its leading
a) It wins, so you win
b) It gets mugged on the line, bang goes your stake
2) Its closing on the leader
a) It wins, so you win
b) The line doesnt come quick enough, bang goes your stake
By laying at the last, 1a and 2a win slightly less. 1b and 2b cost you nowt worst case and if you green it theres a potential profit.

Hi Sushi
Did you find a way to set a stop without offsetting? I have encountered the same problem. I can't see an obvious way to clear the status cell in order to place a manual stop unless I have a macro running in the background which seems like overkill and also adds unnecessary risk!

Stop losses in play dont work properly the market can sometimes be to Volotile, they jump most times if they are set to far out

So what is the best way of exiting a volatile market in play? Is there even an option to set a stop loss for an in-play market ahead of it going in play?Alpha322 wrote:Sushi wrote:Hi,

I tried it, but the stop loss was cancelled automatically as soon as the market went in play.
