Sounds like a stupid question, but it's time I asked it. How can I make money with Bet Angel?

I've been trying BA for a couple of months and cannot find any way of regularly making money with it. If I win some one day I lose it right back the very next day.

The markets I am using are UK horse racing. Can anyone tell me how to make a regular profit using BA?

Well that sounds like very useful information. Would you mind telling me which race and horse to use this strategy on. Don't forget to say if the Back or the Lay should be made first.

It is, no it's not.

Making money on horse racing is difficult (like all trading) and requires a lot of time, effort, thought (and early losses). There is no holy grail. What did you expect people to post in reply?!

I expected people to post how they are making money with BA, (if they are making money).

For me to make money on horse racing, and its only very recently that I;ve become consistent its taken about 2 years of full time watching and learning the way the markets move and behave, I quit my day day job and took a job driving back and nightshift in a taxi so that I had my day time free thinking it would only be for six months! (how wrong was I!)

Ive put up with physical and mental abuse from punters and pretty much worked 7 days a week just to make a wage from driving a cab without a break for that last two years, my relationship with my wife has been tested during this time as on top of that Ive lost money along the way learning to trade, which when your only making a meager wage and losing money here and there learning your trade is not good, my wife also became whats known as a taxi widow.

I've still got a lot to learn and I will always be learning as the markets are always slightly tweaking in some way or another! so be prepared for the long haul, there are some courses and tutoring you can do to help you along the way and give you a head start, but your own mental development will take time and commitment! some people take a lot less than 2 years, some take a lot more, its all down to your own circumstances and how committed you can be in learning your trade.

Dont have any get rich quick expectations and dont expect people on the forum to give away their methods,
people are very very helpful here though, but dont just come to the forum and ask how do i get rich? you wont get much from people here, i you take the time to read the all the old forum posts you will learn quite alot, there are tips and pointers everywhere, start off slow and watch the markets and movements and get feel for whats going on and then start off using small stakes and see if you can stop losing money consistently and then try and start making small profits, with a learning to trade its a marathon not a sprint!

Hope thats not put you off, this is just to show that with hard work and dedication its possible, I always thought to myself if he can do it, so can I.

Start off trying to scalp 1 tick on stable markets.

In the newbie’s section there’s a post “scalping for beginners “read it. Then in the same section there’s a post by james1st, trading in the dark, again read it.

By scalping you are also in effect watching the markets, and after a period of time the mess of numbers flashing about will start to make some sense albeit slowly.

Use a very small bank and the minimum stake, or the new practice mode (I have never used it, so cant comment on it); I would think real money is probably better, up to you.

Most importantly try and learn about you, yourself. Trading is a mind game first and foremost, taking ticks is not too hard, controlling your own mind is the hard part. Your biggest obstacle to cracking trading is your own mind.

Why?
Is it so funny that some people are making money?
Or is it funny to ask forum members to share information? Isn't that what forums are for?

You can't be too far from Brussels... if you're looking for a gravy train, there's a huge one there ;)

Paul did an excellent job in summing up the time it takes to start earning and mind set is half the battle.

One guy out there that is videoing his trading from a bank of £700 for 3 months so that may be a start for you. He is doing a video blog which is free and releases a free video once a month.

There's no such thing as a stupid question! :)

I'd recommend you start by looking at these threads:

Remember that the gap between making a profit and not is tiny on Betfair, so you don't need to be doing that much right to cross the line. :)

I hope this helps.

There is more chance of a Trader letting the local Football team sleep with his wife than revealing his edge
