Does anyone know how I can place a bet (using the excel spreadsheet) at a specific odds. I have a trigger that fires when the odds hit < 2 and want to fire a bet with specific odds of say 1.4

At the moment, the bet requests the price at the time the bet is fired whereas I want it to push the bet to the market at 1.4 and get a match at the best odds above this (The manual says this is how the 'Place at' rule works but the excel commands don't seem to include this 'Place at' command)
Thanks

Hi Stig,
If you put an if statment in the Odds column this will place the odds at your requested price when the odds go under 2, in this case 1.4.
=if(G9<2,1.4,"")
G9 is the current BACK price.

Hope this helps.

Hi I have set up this "trigger" previously. However my bet got matched at 1.6 which is not what I intended. So I checked, double checked and it did again but this time the bet got matched at 6. It has my head wrecked. This is what it says in the excel cell "€ 2 Back bet placed on ********** at 1.2. Fully matched at 6". So I figure this is because excel sends trigger but Betangel(betfair) always looks to match at best possible price????. Is this a setting that I`m missing or cannot be changed?
Thanks
NN

Betfair will always match at the best possible price.

So you could submit a bet and ask for 1.01. But if 1000 is available Betfair will match at the better price. And in running I would say this can happen more than you imagine. I think there is a thread on here somewhere talking about 1.01 losers.

Yeah, I think that thats the case. In the last case it was a big odds on chance that was in the van I reckon and faded in the last furlong. I tried adding another condition but havn`t quite worked it out yet. Thanks tho nn

Well..I am up and running now thanks to the G9<2 advice and I am also getting the price outside my trigger range.. but up to now its been ok as the last one got matched at 2.2 and went on to win despite drifting out from 1.3. I guess this can happen a lot due to it only being a trigger to back at best odds above x.xx but as its a win bet then I am losing no more than I would anyway and stand to gain on the ones that drift out then come back.

Thanks all
