Looks like a good card today, so I am really looking forward to getting really stuck in today.

theres still some funny business going on. Big stakes appearing going against the market direction then disappearing then going the other way! Not as bad as yesterday as theres more liquidity to soak it up

I haven't lost a race yet, but haven't really achieved any big totals either.

Well we were all going out today because it's the 1471 Medieval Battle Festival in Tewkesbury. However the heavens truly opened and so we delayed our departure. I fired up the PC to have a look at a market and caught a nice move on Tahnee Mara a K Ryan horse. I was expecting a drift because through friends involved I knew they weren't confident today. Despite this it steamed in as if defeat was out of the question

It looked a drifter but when it turned I jumped on the move in. I tend to watch the sprints at Chester because they can offer close finishes especially if they go too quick. So I offered to lay the field at 1.60 and duly found 3 matched to offer a profit of £167 on the card :D

Thankfully I ignored the charts what with them being delayed by 10 minutes. The race was over by the time they refreshed

The rain has stopped so we're off to watch the Battle Festival!

UPDATE: A friend has called to say it is a quagmire at the Festival and still raining there. The wife and kids have gone for a Coffee and a slice of chocolate cake and I'm going to watch the cricket :D Forgive the pun but every cloud has a silver lining!

Betfair have clarified the situation re. the graph (sort of!):

The graph is a guide to the level of trading on each selection. It states at the bottom of the page that 'The information on this page may be slightly delayed'.

The graph does not use a live feed, which is the reason it may take around 10 minutes for the information to be updated, as it's not done very frequently according to our technical team.

I get the impression the guy plucked the 10 minutes figure out of thin air, and he's now bluffing to spare his blushes!

Either a trader in trouble or perhaps a bookmaker with a liability which is settling at SP ensuring it doesn't drift, or something else?

What happened? The odds on it seemed fairly stable despite the big order.

Well, that's me done for the day, beer time.

My best day by far since the PC2 announcement, even if there was some heavy 'Lancaster bombing' going on in the last hour.
