Greg,

It depends what you want really in terms of setup: desktop or laptop, but there are a couple of things that are indispensible. Whatever setup you have get a second monitor at the very least. With a desktop setup you can have more monitors depending on your video card. I have a 23inch screen attached to my laptop where I have all my BA screens and use the laptop screen for Betfair and other websites. Big screens are especially useful for looking at large spreadsheets. Otherwise make sure you have the fastest internet connection that you can get and basically get the best spec that you can afford.

Technology Recommendations thread (didn't get many replies though!)

I can definitely recommended the Eizo monitors.

I have a Lenovo C20 workstation (64-bit dual CPU) - not cheap but you get what you pay for... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4_Oi_bwkzg.

Edit: I really don't know how or why people trade on laptops.

Hi Greg
I recently upgraded my set up and I am selling my old set up if your interested?

See my previous posting here:-

It is a bargain! The ergotron monitor stand is second to none and the Samsungs monitors are the best I could get for the money.

If anyone is interested before I stick it all on Ebay please let me know!
Thanks
Peter

(PS Multi monitors are essential In my opinion as having that information at you finger tips is a necessity and not a luxury, that is why I have I have just spent a fortune on my new set up, but money well spent)

Thanks very much for the replies guys :) think i`ve narrowed it down to a dell desktop, but still not sure on screen size yet? I leaning towards one 32` as i`m used to trading off one screen on my laptop so don`t think i want to overload my tiny litte brain with to much info :? Thanks again for taking the time to advise me,all the best greg

Hi Greg

I use a two screen set up and a lenovo pc with extra memory. both the screens are not the the best! but they are backlit lcd and work really well. Also when doing other works two screens are ideal for work on one while gathering info/web etc on the other. a supplier who i can reccomend with out reservation are NOVATECH, really really helpfull, just google, well worth a look.
