I just watched the 1930 from Turf Paradise as its on on my office as I am doing some 'real work'.A horse called Giacomo Girl was very slow away then made ground into the straight with the jockey doing a spider impersonation all over its neck.I had a look at its graph (obviously no IR) and it drifted from 3 to 3.75 with 12K matched.
How do they get away with it?

There are no links between Betfair and US racing authorities so if a horse is laid massively on Betfair with the horse being stopped for example, there is no recall as far as I know.
So if you were not of an honest disposition with links to people in American racing there are likely ways to make a lot of money with no or very little come back.
Not that I am saying this could ever or has ever happened.
