Lingfield has been lost to the cold weather. Doncaster has been passed after a 4th inspection at 11:30am.

I don't know what clown put Southwell on 5 minutes before Cheltenham but I pray they put Cheltenham back 5 mins now or we've then got a 20 minute gap before Doncaster

Had Lingfield run wouldn't that scheduling have made sense?

Southwell would have been flat races so over quickly. I would sooner the longer gap used to build up to a race rather than after it but that seems the way they schedule things. Would be good that now Lingfield is off that they put Cheltenham back though.

Very small fields again, that's not ideal either. Feels like its going to be a tougher day.

Personally I'd sooner see them leaving a 10 minute gap before the best card of the day at Cheltenham. All it takes is one outsider messing around at Southwell and then Cheltenham is ruined worse than it already will be by lack of a proper build up

If they wanted to really be progressive they could have spread Southwell out a bit more with say an average of 40 minutes between the races (which wouldnt be enough to deter on track punters) to work around the other cards to ensure a 10 minute gap each time and could have finished their card a bit later with the floodlights on.

But it looks like they're not even putting the Cheltenham races back. I guess channel 4 might be standing in their way though

Yes fully agree about the build up but for whatever reason they seem to give the 10mins for the post race analysis. I would much sooner more build up as well.

Southwell don't have floodlights and you are probably right - Channel 4 will be calling the shots even though we (racing) pay them to put it on their channel!

Gets even better soon. 12.40 at Southwell, then BOTH Cheltenham and Navan race at 12.45 then nothing until 13.05

This is going to be a long session. As least I can watch the footy during the gaps in the racing.

Tough day, but I've managed to get some good results out of Cheltenham so that's flattered the overall total.

I found it not too bad in the end, better than the last couple of saturdays
