Hi Guys,
I want to warn you not to fall into the trap I did.
I was trading bets on a horse race. I decided to trade in a profit on a £100 bet. I clicked the trade profit button just as the race was about to begin. Instead of showing me a profit of £17 it showed a loss of £274. Horrifed I checked the Price and Volume chart to see that there was a spike where the odds had gone out from around 2.00 to 4.9 and that was what it had got layed at. To make things even worse the horse romped home to win

Do you have the box ticked for showing a bet confirmation message before it gets placed?

I had that happen to me a long while back, before the days of keep bets which with their introduction on the whole now limit the extreme cases of this.

I ended up being matched at 1.01 as my order hit the market when there was no orders in the market as the race started just as I clicked. You used to see such errors fairly regularly.

From that day on I never touched it. I would always exit using the ladder so you are sure the odds you click at are the ones you get.

Sorry to hear about the loss but learn from it.

Hi Guys,
Yeah it did show the confirmation window, but because I thought I was bidding at the price I had seen and the odds didn't actually change in the main window I missed it.I've only been using Bet Angel and Betfair for a few weeks. And yeah it is one to put down to experience. Like the chinese guy with pigtails and long beard says, 'To error is human to repeat it is stupidity.'
Thought I would stick it on here so people can learn from my mistake.
